Terms of Use

By using DropNear to drop or download files, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. DropNear lets you leave a file at a real-world location for people nearby to download. (In the iOS app, DropNear appears under the name “DropZone” — same service, same policy.)

Acceptable use

You are responsible for the files you upload. You agree not to use DropNear to store, share, or distribute content that:

• is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
• infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights, or that you don't have the right to share;
• is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that targets or endangers others;
• is sexual content involving minors, or any other content that exploits or harms children;
• contains malware, viruses, or code intended to damage or gain unauthorized access to devices;
• contains someone else's private or personal information shared without their consent; or
• is spam or otherwise abuses the service.

Reporting & content removal

Every drop can be reported by anyone who receives it. We take moderation seriously: files may be automatically hidden or removed when reported, and we may remove any drop and disable access at our discretion, without notice, if we believe it violates these terms. Drops also expire automatically and are deleted at expiry, on reaching their download limit, or when their creator deletes them.

Location & downloads

Access to a drop is intended for people physically inside the drop's radius, or those holding its unlock code or QR. Don't attempt to circumvent the location check, brute-force unlock codes or PINs, or otherwise access drops you weren't given access to. We rate-limit requests and may block abusive clients.

No warranty

DropNear is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that files will be delivered, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that stored files won't be lost. Files are stored temporarily and may be deleted at any time. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DropNear and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. You use DropNear at your own risk.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of DropNear after a change means you accept the updated terms. We'll update the date at the top of this page.
